Time to say goodbye

Today is the first day of autumn and time to say goodbye to the summer of 2014.

Summertime means garden parties; gathering with family and friends to enjoy the warm summer days and pleasant evenings. I’m posting outfits I’ve wore at garden parties.

I hosted a garden party in June.

Fruit is so refreshing anytime but at garden parties it’s a feast for the eyes to see a platter of delicious fruit in all colours and flavours. There’s lots more savoury vegan dishes to satisfy everyone’s taste buds and tummies.

Susan’s annual garden party is always fun with dancing in the back yard. I wore my favourite sundress. Do you see the butterfly on my shoulder?

My son has a friend who invited us to a pond party; a very exclusive community in our city has a private pond (spring fed) that they share.

I wore my new daisy lace skirt I bought in NYC (made in USA) to a very special birthday party for my granddaughter in August at Victoria Park gardens.

My Elisa Cavaletti is so versatile, I’ve never regretted buying it. Our neighbours had a Patio Party and I wore my black and white tunic.

This garden party had a lovely man-made pond.

goodbye summer

Leave room in the garden to dance!

  1. I think summer went faster than it arrived. I am going to miss it. The man-made pool looks rather cool. Great outfit for the party you hosted in June. It has a very summer look to it.

Thank you so much, it’s always nice to have a gentleman’s perspective! 🙂

I love water: natural ponds or man-made pools, rivers, streams, lakes and oceans. There’s something about water that refreshes my soul. Funny thing is, I don’t swim!

      • LoL. That’s funny. I think I can understand why you love the water, but cannot swim. When I think of large bodies of water, I associate the sound of waves softly splashing along the shoreline, as a peaceful moment. When we are by the water, we sit, listen and look out into the distance. She and I both love nature in this way.

Oh, to have been there to have partaken of the platter of delicious fruit……and to have danced in the garden.
Yes, I saw the butterfly…..after I stopped looking for a real butterfly literally on your shoulder.

This particular fruit platter was prepared by one of my dancing friends. Glad you found the butterfly, shows me you actually read my blog – LOL – not just look at the photos!

You missed my garden party, because you’re at the beach all summer. 🙂

Thank you dear Rebecca! I have more summer clothes than winter clothes, but our summer season is shorter than our winter season so I never get to wear all my summer clothes in one summer. Oh, the problems of a summer kinda girl living in the north! I wish I lived in California, you are so blessed!!

Today is warm and sunny, so I’m still wearing a summer outfit. 🙂

Hello Carmen 😀 Your garden was laid out beautifully for your party and your outfits are always stunning. I am also sad to see the end of months of glorious hot days here in southern Spain as it’s definitely getting cooler now. Thanks for releasing my last comment from spam. I hope this one works ! Thank you very much Ralph! I cannot take credit for the first photo, although I am the photographer, this is not my garden. Wish it was! I was blessed to be a guest. The setting was so beautiful, the ambiance was magnificent! It was actually the reception of a dear friend who had a garden party after her wedding.

Most photos in my blog are taken by me, unless I’m in them, I’m not good at selfies.

      Have a good evening!

Hey Melinda! I love so many colours that it’s hard to pick one. Ask me what’s my favourite flower and that’s easy — daisies!! Ask my favourite hobby — dancing!! My favourite actress of all time – Hayley Mills. My favourite song, well, that’s a bit like colours, soooo many!!

Three favourite colours are pink, lavender and turquoise. I’m wearing a pink top with a lavender skirt in the photo of me by the pond.

          What’s your favourite flower? 🙂

Beautiful outfits for summer! I am sad summer is over since it’s my favourite season, but Autumn is so exciting as well..it’s the season of apples and pumpkins and every yummy food related to them like apple cider, apple pies, pumpkin pies. ^^ Also, the changing of leave colours is stunning. I’m sure you’ll wear some awesome fall outifts! Happy Autumn Carmen!! XO, Violet

Thank you so much sweetie! Summer is my favourite season too, although autumn and spring are wonderful: spring with it’s blossoms and buds bursting with life and autumn with the splendor of colours and abundance of food. Winter is magical with freshly fallen snow and I’d love it if it only lasted one month. That would be great! I’d look forward to it every year if that were the case! 😉

      Have a sunny day!
