Cruisin’ on King Street Classic Car Show

Summertime is the time when vintage cars come out of hibernation to enjoy the sunshine and admiration of the crowds. Kitchener, Ontario hosts and boasts a fabulous annual car show that rallies people from near and far. The cars arrive at Victoria Park in the afternoon.

Crazy ’bout a Mercury!

51 Chevy

Although some signs say that you can’t even lean on the cars unless you’re in your birthday suit, the owner of this beauty was very kind and invited me to sit in the driver’s seat! Thank you for my first time ever in a Jaguar!

Baby, you can drive my car!

Fun fun fun till her daddy took her T-bird away! Looks great even from behind!

Downtown King Street is closed to traffic except for the parade of classic and rare cars.

DSC00224 copyI enjoy chatting with the enthusiastic owners. Check out the sparkling engine of this Corvette, it’s cleaner than my kitchen counter (which is really clean because I’m vegan and use Norwex cleaning products).

Don’t let life pass you by like a blue Corvette!

Cars are parked on the street after the parade and the festivities go on till into the night: live bands, dancing and impersonators, like Elvis. I found a 1952 Chrysler, my birth year!

Last time I was in Seattle, I enjoyed a visit to the fabulous LeMay Car Museum in Tacoma, Washington USA with Jeanofalltrades. Take a peek at the stunning collection!

Posters of the good old ’60s and I’m in my 60s now!

I love a good car show! Let’s face it, a beautiful classic or fancy hot rod makes a pretty great accessory!

Good day my dear! I love wearing all white, but I always add a pop of colour with my accessories. I was thrilled to find these Croc sandals (yes, Crocs! so comfortable) my first pair and my only turquoise shoes.

      Thanks for commenting!

Thank you sweetie! I’m sure my white outfit got me the ticket to ride! Well, at least to sit in the driver’s seat for a photo! LOL A ride would be AWESOME!!

Pampered is right!! It’s really nice to see these cars being taken care of and many have been restored, the stories are fascinating!

      Have a beautiful evening!

I wanted to bring up a song that wasn’t listed already but I too love Drive My Car. And I must add that you look freshly stunning! Love your outfit.
I’ve been to the LeMay museum a couple of times. What an amazing collection. I’d say he is somewhat of a hoarder.

Thank you so much my dear Joni!

“Drive My Car” is a classic, just like these classic cars. I like “Mustang Sally.”

Yes, the LeMay Museum is amazing! Harold LeMay’s extensive collection of over 3,000 cars (that’s more cars than I have teddy bears) might be considered hoarding; I guess “collector” is a euphemism. 😉

Enjoy the heatwave I hear you’re having!

There is a car rally each Tuesday evening in July and August at Sauble Beach……we saw a few cars leaving as we returned yesterday from our day trip to Tobermory.

My God, Carmen, this post makes me wonder. What I like most, cars, or your look? LOL. I’m not a car enthusiast, but these are something else, are real gems. Pieces of great beauty, which in Europe are not very frequent. I really like the black, which reaches age as you. Although you’re much prettier than him. LOL. The cars are beautiful, but they are more beautiful when you’re with them. It’s hard to look at the car if you carry this wonderful white set. You vintage, beautiful blouse, and these pants in which wrinkles are beautiful. I love your turquoise accessories, neck, arms and feet. The combination with white is wonderful. The most wonderful model for this exhibition. How beautiful is joined there. Wonderful “mature” car and the most attractive mature woman. Kitchener can boast of both.

Thank you so much my dear JM! The cars are magnificent, so many to choose from, I only posted a few! I was very happy to sit in the driver’s seat, I think my white outfit was the reason he let me! I have a little blue VW Beetle, but I am thankful to have a car and be able to drive.

You are very observant, my pants are a wrinkled fabric, very cool and comfortable. My blouse is a vintage-look but is actually new, the same one I wore for my Canada Day post.

I like the Beatles “Drive My Car” too. Do you have car shows in your city?

        Have a happy day!
        Besos! 🙂
