Yes, we girls tend to gather clothes like squirrels gather nuts in September! And shoes and accessories etc etc etc.
My hair is naturally darker, I’ve also had it totally blonde many many moons ago, but I’ve been getting highlights and low lights, and every time it turns out a bit different. Maybe I’ll surprise you and go dark again. 😉
Happy 4th of July weekend my dear Rebecca!

It’s hard to part with some of mine, but I have to force myself to sometimes just to make room for NEW clothes—which I always love buying.

I hear you! I am forced to part with some of mine for that very reason and I’m going through things as we speak! Just hope someone appreciates them!

People at the thrift shops always appreciate “new” clothes. That’s where I usually take mines if family can’t use them.

Clothes can last so long! And there is not reason to leave them in the closet! Your red sweater is very nice and the long white skirt suits you so well!!
p.s.
I also have some pieces which I keep for its sentimental value, even if I don’t often wear anymore!

Thank you dear Dan! Nice to know I’m not the only one who is sentimental and enjoys the memories!

Hi Carmen – I can understand why you like to keep your clothing – these pieces looked fab ten years ago, and today. Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday!

Thank you dear Patti! You have many timeless pieces too and when one keeps the same figure and takes care of the items, they have a long life!

Thanks Jean for linking to my post! I love how you remix your clothes. I am trying to part with some of mine to make room for new ones I’ll be buying in NYC. Even the spare room that I’ve turned into a dressing room, has limited space and it’s just not practical to buy a bigger house to accommodate my clothes. 😛

Hi, just found your blog! You look great in both pictures by the way. I don’t really have many things I’ve hung on to for years and years but I do have a love for brown denim jackets ever since the 70’s. Right now I don’t have one but it’s always on my scout list for one that fits well. Suede would be even better!

That combination looks as good now as then. I have to admit I am good in recycling clothes to the charity shop. I have totally changed ( after my divorce and needed to change) . I have only a pair of shoes which have a sentimental value as my dad bought them for me, they were extremely expensive and they are my “confidence” shoes. As they are amazing quality I still wear them after about 8 years and love htem, specially on a day when I need the extra confidence. I feel soooo good in them. Clothes… If I haven’t worn something for a year or 2 it goes…..as I don’t have so much room anyway, and it makes room for something new. Clothes I love get older and stay in my wardrobe for years.

Thank you dear Ute! How special to have “confidence shoes” I LOVE IT!! They will always remind you of your dear dad! I remember reading about him. It’s wonderful how tangible things can be such a wonderful reminder of a person or a special time in our lives! Sometimes I kiss an item that my mom or brother made or wore (both have passed away
Happy memories remain vivid in our hearts!! ❤ ❤ ❤

You look lovely, Carmen, in this timeless outfit. I do not have sentimental attachment to my clothes so I give them away the moment they do not look good. I only have old jewelry of my mother and mother in law, that although I do not wear, I love looking at. Sara

Thank you dear Sara! Old jewelry is a keepsake for sure, especially from your mother and other-in-law! I do need to part with some clothes, so I will donate and hope they go to a good home.
Have a lovely weekend!

A wonderful combination. The peasant blouse has a beautiful color and design. I love the motif chest and neck finish, is very funny. And the skirt is soft, misty and perfect for your moves on the dance. I think I saw in another post. Now look more smiling, and your hair it looks perfect. In 2005 your appearance was a bit hippie, but equally attractive and elegant. The little red purse and sandals, you’re wearing now, give it more character to look and make it even more charming. If you save all your clothes, your wardrobe must be enormous, which I envy. And now a fun comment, the football team of my city like dresses, white pants and red shirt. LOL. But do not look as pretty as you.

Thank you J-M, I appreciate the details you take the time to comment on! 😉 I have this style of skirt in light beige as you see in this post and a white one too. I still have a hint of hippie, but glad you think it’s more elegant. Growing up in the 60s influenced my style for life! I like long hair (although it’s shorter now than in my hippie days) I love flowers and gypsy-style outfits.
I don’t play football 😉 LOL I’d rather dance!! 🙂
Besos!!
