Blogging and Shoutouts

Being part of the blogging community gives me a connection with many interesting and inspirational people that I share this planet with, people I may never have met in my lifetime: a myriad of blogs and a variety of topics.

I want to express my thanks to these people for their encouragement. Giving each other shoutouts is a wonderful way to encourage one another and let them know they are appreciated.

jeanofalltradesMy daughter Jean of all trades has two blogs; one for fashion/art/photography and all things beautiful (she’s my inspiration). And her compassion blog to promote healthy, cruelty-free living; delicious, nutritious recipes, urgent information about matters that should make us consider what we are buying and the harm we are doing by simply not knowing what’s going on.

Be informed and vote with your dollars!

sensecorbataJosep-Maria from Spain has included me in his fashion reviews of styles and elegance of mature women. Reading his blog is better than a fashion magazine on the rack because he chooses real women with real style.

He was one of the first people who found my blog and commented. He became a regular commentator and I appreciate his compliments.

Debbie from Just the Write Charisma listed me in some of her favorite blogs list. She wrote this about my blog …

Fashionable Over 50 – This blog shows that fashion isn’t just about what you wear; it’s how you wear it and how you feel when you’re wearing it.

Debbie Mayne

honkifyou'reveganCeleste is a woman after my own heart–she spreads the word of compassion, that we don’t need to eat animals to live. In fact, we’ll be healthier eating a plant-based diet as her testimony proves. Our planet will be better off and the animals will be spared from the torture that we humans inflict on them.

Celeste shared my story and I have had her as a guest blogger.

Deborah BolandFabulous After 40 is a great place to pick up fashion tips for woman who want style at 40+.

Style expert Deborah Boland has fabulous fashion advice and fashion trends you’ll love. You’ll find personal style bloggers modeling their attire.

I am pleased to be included in the fabulous After 40 online magazine with other fashionable and classy ladies!

gracefully50Jeannie, Celeste, Greg and also my daughter Jean nominated me for the Liebster Blog award–I’m blushing!! Thanks a bunch!!

Jeannie wrote this about me …

fashionable over 50 –  She is beautiful, graceful, and  classy!  She is a dancer…if dancing can make me as youthful, sign me up! You will never guess her age…wow!

coveredperfectlyPauline Durban, founder of Covered Perfectly, gave me a wonderful opportunity to review her tops.

Find out why I ordered more! These are must-have tops in any woman’s wardrobe for any size woman. Check out the great selection of colours and styles to choose from. Made in the USA.

Pauline is a remarkable woman and has a very interesting story to share.

notdeadyetstylePatti at Not Dead Yet Style is a gracious hostess for fashion bloggers.

Every second Monday she hosts a fashion party at her “place”  called Visible Monday and invites fashion bloggers to join the party.

I have been to her fashionable parties to see what other women are wearing!

Thank you Patti! 🙂

ArlenArlen from Armenia has a fantastic blog with awesome photos. He is an artist and avid writer, has written books and is currently seeking someone to sponsor his latest book to be published.

I enjoy reading his posts and poems.

I wish you success!! 🙂

Pink Glamour Bloggers (featuring women in pink) found me when I posted Think Pink. Guess you could say I was tickled pink to be included at 61 with young, pretty, fashionable bloggers! Viva la pink!

Jim Wood reblogged my Animal Rights Day! Thanks again and keep up the good work in your blog–TIME FOR ACTION.

A heart-felt thank you to all who have taken the time to comment, it means so much to hear from you! Even a quick click of the like button brings a smile to my heart. I appreciate everyone who stops by to read my posts or look at photos, and hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy reading and looking at what other bloggers are posting.

I hope to inspire and encourage you in some way. At almost 62 (in February) I want to spread confidence that every woman should have. To look in the mirror and say to yourself–I’m glad I’m me! I never in my life imagined myself writing a blog and sharing my thoughts and photos; or to become an amateur “model” showcasing my wardrobe. Am I so full of myself? Or am I showing mature women, we are still attractive and can dress with style at any age. We can be free to be ourselves. To enjoy life, to have fun with fashion!

These are a few of my favourite blogs …

Jean of all Trades

Dan – The Pretty Cute

Jan – Fort Smith Stylista

Sara – Life Style Over 40

Sylvia – 40 Plus Style

Jesse Anne O

Emy – Fur Out the Closet

Celeste – Honk if You’re Vegan

Susan – Watch Hatch Fly

Julie – Dose Dependent

Lynette – va-va-vegan

Sherry Lachelle Photography

Jean – Sunshine and Slaughter

  3. Definitely the latter Carmen: “showing mature women, we are still attractive and can dress with style at any age”. I have never received the impression that you are full of yourself … I love that you are passionate about fashion and having fun with fashion, not being a slave to it. Your youth and vibrancy comes from your spirit, which is lit with God’s bright light. I pray you continue to have fun and be a testimony to others, and especially to Christian women, about how we can honour ourselves, animals and this planet all while having fun and wearing fun outfits at the same time.
    Blessings
PS – you are NOT going to be 62! Hush! You look 42, if that. Sheesh.

Thank you so much Julie! I’ll be 62 next week and I attribute my excellent health and energy to my vegan life-style! Gratitude and attitude are very important. Love and forgiveness does so much for our faces and works better than any lotion we can apply.

My faith in Jesus affects everything I do. Whether it’s frivolous fashion or the importance of health and our environment. God designed us so intricately and wonderfully, He is the inventor of beauty! Of course, we should not be vain or in bondage to fashion. 😦 I promote ethical and cruelty-free fashion. 🙂

Some reasons I like seeing other women’s style: we share ideas and get inspired, sometime imitate and sometimes just admire someone else’s style even if it’s different from our own, because we are all individuals and unique, and can still appreciate each other.

Blessings and may His will be done … on earth as it is in heaven!!
