The Queen of Capri

My dear friend Josep-Maria is a style expert. He grew up surrounded with fashion. His mother was a seamstress: sewing beautiful dresses, especially for parties and weddings. He is well known in fashion blogging circles because he has a blog and features elegant, stylish mature women.

I was thrilled when I received his first comment on my blog! I was new to blogging and it has always been encouraging to read his kind comments. I sincerely appreciate his support.

Josep-Maria calls me the Queen of Capri and that makes me smile 🙂  I love it!!! So I have put together a collage of my capri outfits that I hope he will enjoy!

For you my dear amigo!!

May I say you look fabulous. I am 10years younger than you and try to keep healthy with nutrition and lots of exercise. If my reward is that I will look as young and fit as you do I will be happy.
I have found your blog via Arlen, and enjoy looking good too. I can’t afford designer clothes but there are lots of other nice items around. Only since my divorce 4 years ago I feel truly able to look more after myself and enjoy it thorougly. (I do have 2 wonderful boys too)
Love all your pictures. Regards Ute

Thank you very much Ute! So nice to meet you!! Blogging is a wonderful way to get to know people from around the world, hearing about their lives and interests, sharing hobbies and passions. Enjoying photos of places and people.

I love Arlen’s blog, such a fine young man and I hope he gets his new book published.

I just read your heart-warming tribute to your dad! Hope to keep in touch with blogging. You’re welcome back anytime and I’ll be seeing you at your Happy World!!

Oh lovely to see this homage. Fun how you approached it with all your capri outfits.

Thank you Greetje! I loved yours too!! We all appreciate and love him. I did not get the memo, but I was preparing a post for Josep-Maria and since he gave me a nickname – the Queen of Capri – I thought it would be fun to do a collection of my capri pants most of which I have not posted before. I love capris!

I’m thankful that he brought us together with his blog!

So glad to have you as my blogging friend!

  4. You guys provided the very best homage to a real gentleman. So sweet of all of you, and you look very pretty in the process. You do know how to wear your capris!

Thank you Jan! We all appreciated his blog and being so supportive of us mature ladies. (Funny, I never considered myself ‘mature’ before I started this blog.) Anyway, I’m glad you stopped by!

It was nice to read about the “Queen of Capri”!

Thank you so much Dan! Ever since Josep-Maria called me the Queen of Capri, it has been a little fun nick-name. I love capri pants and they are very practical for teaching dance classes.

Your tribute to him is beautiful!! You are always so elegant!!

How sweet of you to dedicate your post to a friend. : )

You are the only woman I know that can make capris look good.

Thank you my dear Patti! Josep-Maria was one of my first followers and consistent commentators.

It’s wonderful to make friends across the globe, to be inspired and inspire, to share interests and diversities. Blogging brings us all a little closer; a sort of twenty first century pen pals–no paper, no stamps needed! 🙂

Your fashion parties are fun and you are a fashion inspiration to us all!!

My dear friend Carmen, my queen of Capri! I’m excited and so surprised by this demonstration of affection. That, my simple blog and my comments, this could generate sympathy amazes me. I’ve only tried to talk about what I like, fashion. Explain that mature people are also elegant, and do it politely and respectfully. I’m happy, because I think my philosophy is understood. Your blog is very important to me, was one of the first I followed, and I love your style and your personality, you know. A big hug and thank you very much.

You a very welcome my dear Josep-Maria!! You bring a smile to my heart!! One of the reasons that I like capris is because they are cooler in the summer than long pants and more elegant than shorts on a mature woman. I also like them because my mother wore them in the 50s and 60s. Audrey Heburn wore them too with ballet flat shoes, a very casual but chic look.

I heart-felt thank you for your encouragement and friendship!

      A BIG hug!!
      Muchos gracias!!
