it was a fashionable year!

Here are highlights of a fun, fashionable year! Fashion opportunities I had only dreamed of came true!

In January I was one of 10 finalists for the Most Fabulous Women over 40 Model Search with an opportunity to model beautiful fashions in February and walk the runway in style.

It was nice to meet one of my dance students from years ago. She was one of the 10 finalists from 2010. We both got to model similar red dresses, wore black stilettos with straps and had similar hairdos!

What a lovely way to celebrate my 61st birthday!

I wore my red dress for the Valentine’s Dance. It felt regal. I also wore it recently to a Christmas Ball–a very elegant dance and formal affair with all the ladies dressed up looking glamorous and the gentlemen in tuxedos looked dashing like a scene from The Great Gatsby.

We all modeled beautiful outfits in the May issue of  MOST magazine–celebrating women over 40. What a wonderful experience for us! The winner (Nanette Jozwiak–in hot pink) was the cover girl.

In August I was thrilled to be featured in Fabulous After 40 online magazine! They chose this photo of me wearing a flattering peplum top. This was my first peplum top and since then I’ve bought three more! Stylish clothes are not just for the young, but the young at heart can have fun with fashion too. Frumpy is boring! Here’s what they wrote …

Pretty in Peplum

Peplum tops, like maxi dresses, were hot this spring. They’re are a great way to dress up an outfit.

Fashion blogger Carmen has fond memories of her mom’s gorgeous red peplum dress with black roses from the 60s and longs to have a wardrobe full of peplum suit jackets with matching pencil skirts just like her mom had.  While in New York City recently, Carmen wore a peplum top with capri pants and strappy black sandals.

Carmen (who is 61!) loves peplum tops because they are feminine, great for all body types from slim to fuller figures and really create the hourglass that so many of us wish we had. They also make her feel very feminine.

What a perfect way to end a fashionable year by doing a fashion review in December for a Californian company–Covered Perfectly. The first thing that leaped out when I checked out their Website was MADE IN USA . So many lovely styles to choose from and the quality is unbeatable!

These are must-have tops, I simply love them! They’re so stylish and comfortable, especially the tops made with European beechwood, completely natural and produced in Austria–luxurious fabric, super soft!!  I ordered more of these amazing tops in different colours and patterns. Blue leopard (shown below) is a unique animal print and I will feature the others in the new year!
