Sunflowers in September

Sunflowers in a meadow make me happy. Sunflowers make me smile.

happy autumn

We’ve had some beautiful days this month and I’m loving September! There have been days warm enough to wear tank tops and my sunflower capri leggings. I’ve had them forever and I still love wearing them every summer around the house and relaxing in the garden.

Today is the first day of autumn: it’s bright and sunny, but there’s a cool breeze blowing our way and fall is in the air. *SIGH* I haven’t finished wearing all my summer clothes yet.

As much as I love autumn, there’s a strange feeling of melancholy. Although I love the colours of the leaves as they change to gold and scarlet, I can’t help the traces of sadness that lurk in my heart. I enjoy the moderate temperature, but can’t seem to shake the slight depression I feel.

How does autumn make you feel?

I feel much the same. Although I enjoy autumn’s splendor, fall flavours and sweater weather, I always feel sad saying “goodbye” to summer as I start to close up gardens and start dismantling the patio. Love the long hazy days of summer

I seem to have missed this post last year……the sunflowers are marvelous…..Janet saw lots of them in Spain two years ago….sometimes we see them on the way home from the trailer.

  4. I totally get your feeling of melancholy. I’m typically a happy, bubbly person, but in the Autumn and Winter I get down sometimes. For me, it’s mostly when it’s overcast. Sunshine really is a mood booster. Anyway, you look lovely in sunflowers girlfriend! Celeste 🙂

I couldn’t agree more. The cooler weather makes me sad. Although it is sunny now I know that winter is coming. It’s ominous. I hate winter.

At least your sunflower pants still think it’s summer : )

I am not a winter person either, that’s why I feel this sadness, because the cold weather is around the corner. Winter is such a drag and way too long!!

There are still many beautiful flowers in the neighbourhood.

      Thanks for your visit!

Thank you, Sarah! Dancing is one of the ways I stay in shape–3 or more hours a day! A plant-based lifestyle helps, too and keeps me healthy! 🙂

      Have a sunny day!
