After a scorching, hot week, temperatures dropped just in time for the 38th annual Highland Games in Cambridge, Ontario on Saturday, July 20th. Whether you’re Scottish or not, this family event is an exciting way to spend a lovely summer day. I enjoy watching the Highland dancers (ranging from tots to teens) every time I go. Competitions of the athletic events – such as the caber toss, hammer throw and tug o war – are fun to watch. However, my favourite part of this event is hearing hundreds of pipers play as they march in unison! It is always a very emotional experience for me when they play …
Amazing Grace.
I love tartan kilts and argyle socks!!
I wore a gray top with a lace yoke and gray plaid mock kilt.
This was my grandchildren’s first time at the Highland Games.
Highland Games are held in various cities in Ontario during the summer months. Have you ever been?
More beautiful, more attractive and more stylish grandmother. And the happiest granddaughter, with his wonderful grandmother. Love the post.

I’ve never been to the Highland Games in Ontario, although I’ve wanted to many times. I did get a chance to visit the Savannah Highland Games in Georgia recently. I didn’t realize what a rich Scottish heritage there is all along the East coast of the US, right into the south. It was a lot of fun!

It’s part of your heritage!! 🙂 Next time you’re in Ontario during the summer we can plan to go! Since there are several throughout the summer, we can go to one of them. We went to the Fergus Scottish Festival last year.
Cheerio! ❤
