My First Year Blogging

My daughter, Jeanofalltrades, is a style blogger. She started her blog in January, 2011. Jean has a flair for writing and is an avid photographer. She has dabbled in modeling and does most of her own photography using a tripod. Her interest in fashion started as a preschooler, and even before she could dress herself, she knew what she wanted to wear.

I start the day by reading her blog with a cup of coffee (fair trade) like some people pick up the morning newspaper. I admit–I’m more interested to see what’s happening in her corner of the world than what’s happening in other parts of the planet. Partly because I like to jump-start the day with good news (and find out the bad news later) and mainly because she’s my daughter and lives a million miles away.

I was a guest blogger on one of Jean’s posts. That whet my appetite and she encouraged me to start my own.

With these four goals, I set out to talk about my lifestyle, to share my thoughts and to connect with others.

• Staying young –  having a positive outlook and good attitude.

• Keeping active – various forms of physical activities according to interests and abilities.

• Living healthy – eating nutritious, plant-based food, getting proper rest, taking care of skin and hair.

• Being fashionable – having fun with style; clothes, shoes and accessories.

One year later–it’s been an adventurous and interesting year. I’ve enjoyed writing and reading. I’m another year older and another year wiser, I’ve collected another year of memories and I’m another year closer to where I’m going.
