My daughter, Jean, moved to Seattle in 2000. We only see each other once a year, so you can imagine how ecstatic I am to be going to Seattle in a few days. Jean is a globetrotter, frequently traveling to various places in the States (including Hawaii), Canada, overseas to Germany and Scotland, and south of the boarder to Costa Rica. Sometimes she comes to visit us and a few times we have met someplace else to enjoy vacations in New York City, California and Florida. I visited her in Seattle once before and this will be my second time.
It’s always great to see her in person, but we won’t have much to catch up on because we stay connected with technology – telephone, email and her blog keeps me up-to-date with what’s happening in her corner of the world.
Recently, Mr. and Mrs. Jeanofalltrades, purchased a new house so I’m looking forward to seeing it.
Seattle is a fascinating city, with so many interesting places to see. And, of course, shopping! After all, I love fashion!! I bought these pants in a second-hand shop in nearby Kirkland, red sandals at Macy’s and the hand-crafted purse from an artisan at Pike Place Market.
If you’ve never been there, you may enjoy a glimpse of this city by viewing my slideshow of photos I took on my last visit a couple of summers ago. If you have been there, I hope you’ll take a walk down memory lane and watch this …
Enjoyed this post ….will look forward to the next post about Seattle and the accompanying photos.

Can’t wait for your visit! Did you go up Smith Tower last time? It’s the “white arrow” building in your slideshow. We should do that!

Yes, Jean, it was so interesting. Smith Tower used to be the tallest building west of the Mississippi when it was built. It still has the original elevators and most of these city shots were taken from the observation deck.
