Put on Your Hiking Boots

When I’m not dancing, I’d rather be out hiking than cleaning the basement. Lots of time to do that during the long, cold winter! I want to do as much walking before the temperatures drop below freezing. That’s when I prefer to be curled up on the sofa in front of a fireplace (which we don’t have yet – fireplace that is, we do have a sofa!).

I have heard so much about Webster’s Falls, a place not too far from where I live, yet I’d never been there. Ontario has a myriad of falls, besides the world famous Niagara Falls.

I love water; oceans, rivers, streams, ponds, falls and fountains! There’s something about the sound of water from a little, babbling brook to majestic, gushing falls that relaxes me and is music to my soul. Perhaps that’s why I loved my house by the river and miss it so much.

Tews Falls is a 41 metre ribbon waterfall, walking distance from Webster’s Falls.

I don’t usually wear matchy-matchy pant suits, this being my first time wearing the sporty jacket and cargo pants together since I bought them at the Spanner bowout sale last spring. I wear the pants with other jackets and the jacket with black jeans. I feel like I’m in the 60s when I used to wear pantsuits (a little more updated now, I hope!).

What’s more fun than going for a walk? Going for a walk with friends and stopping at the Brown Dog on the way home!

  1. Um…Most stylish hiker ever! I don’t know how you did it because I don’t think I could look that cute for a hike!

      Aww…thanks Amy!
My Converse are red and black hounds-tooth pattern with black toes! I bought them in New York City and there were sooooo many choices–it was hard to decide. I think a black pair would be neutral, so that’s my next choice!!

Janet has been there different times with the hiking herd.
She and I have been there once or twice.
I’m amazed at the terrain you navigate in your footwear!

These boots are made for walking – the terrain where we walked was a well beaten path. I wouldn’t wear the ones in the pic for mountain climbing or getting off the beaten path! The stairs to the bottom of the falls were closed so the path was very easy, probably could have worn high heels – just kidding. 😉

That nicest place. Few things get me more relaxed than hiking boots. In the woods or on the mountain I can feel happy.
