Another milestone: My daughter Jean’s 40th birthday was in December and my 60th birthday is in February. We celebrated our birthdays together in January at the Sublime restaurant in Ft Lauderdale. What an elegant restaurant with ambiance and an excellent cuisine!!
The owner, Nanci Alexander, came to our table to see how we were enjoying our meal and asked us a few questions. Of course, we raved because it was delicious!! It’s great to support a restaurant that caters to vegetarians and vegans, yet anyone can enjoy the tasty, healthy menu; there’s something good for everyone. You’d be surprised how you won’t even miss animal products. A plant-based diet is more than healthy; Sublime proves that it satisfies the taste buds without cruelty to living creatures.
Sublime has seen many famous vegetarians come through its doors to a feast fit for a king! Sir Paul McCartney sat at the table beside us. Unfortunately, he was not there on the same day as we were!
Jean wore a beautiful, green sundress with pink flamingos; I wore my new red dress over legging capris. (We both bought the same dresses and they will be featured in another post soon.)
So now you know another one of my secrets for health and beauty – I have been a vegetarian all my life. It’s a lie to say we can’t survive or be healthy without meat. It’s a lie to say we don’t get enough protein with a plant-based diet. And it’s another lie that we need dairy and eggs. We can meet all our nutritional needs with the variety of fruits and vegetables, grains, nuts and seeds that God has blessed us with!
Here’s a toast to health! Yours and mine!! L’chaim!! *

Here begins the story of Carmen vegan, his great triumph. The best proof that being vegan can lead to health, beauty and happiness.
