My daughter: the fashionista

Today is my daughter’s 40th birthday (she doesn’t look it) and to celebrate I am posting a video of some of Jean’s fabulous outfits that she has on her blog!

The second post on my blog is about a woman who inspired me as I grew up – my mom! However, Jean is also my inspiration (and has been since she was a child). Even as a preschooler she knew what she wanted and decided which clothes she would wear each day.

She had her style and ideas at age five. While shopping for winter boots she picked out a pair I didn’t think was practical (shaggy, white, faux fur!) and when I lovingly tried to talk her into choosing a different pair of boots, she looked up at me and politely, but firmly informed me, “Mommy, I have my own taste!” I bought her the shaggy boots!

It was Jean that got her ears pierced first and then I was brave enough to have mine done. It was Jean that got a perm (when “fros” were in style in the 80’s) and then I went out to get mine done! If I had a photo I could post it but not sure she’d appreciate that – lol.

In January of 2011, Jean started a blog called jeanofalltrades about fashion and so much more!! I am a follower and she has always influenced me in fashion and inspired me to start my own blog!!

Thank you Jean!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I love you! ❤️

Like daughter, like mother. Your relationship with Jean is wonderful. Your travel must be wonderful with her now. I love the song you chose for the video.

  8. Thanks for the wonderful birthday gift! The video is amazing! So professional too! I’d love to share this on my blog for my one-year blogging anniversary.

I’m so glad I could be a style inspiration to you – even from a young age. It’s a two-way street though. I get a lot of my interest in fashion and my tastes from you!
